Rashes are common outbreaks or bumps found on the skin and they can
either spread out over a larger area or be localized and are frequently
accompanied by cracked skin, redness, inflammation and itching. They
also have a variety of causes including certain diseases, psychological
factors, mosquito bites, viral, fungal or bacterial infections,
environmental irritants, allergies, exposure to the sun and dry skin.
1. Stay Away from Allergens
If you are prone to rashes on your face, you should try to stay away
from allergens. Some of the most common ones to avoid include aluminum,
platinum, chromium, nickel and other metals on jean buttons, belt
buckles, watches and jewelry.
2. Replace Plastic Products for Metal Products
If you are using metal products, you should try to switch them to
plastic ones (such as belt buckles). If your buttons are metal, try
covering them with a coat of clear nail polish to prevent rashes.
3. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
People with sensitive skin should avoid harsh chemicals such as
those in cosmetics, hair dyes, soaps and detergents as well as avoiding
other skin irritants such as poison oak, poison ivy, rubber and leather.
4. Mind Personal Hygiene
Some rashes can be due to bacterial or fungal infections and in case
of these, taking care of your personal hygiene should prevent them. You
should also let the skin in these areas breathe to help with healing.
5. Avoid Using Oil Based Products
Oil based products trap heat inside and this can lead to heat rashes so be careful and avoid using these products.
